lanosterol

thank you, dr. wilcox, this picture explains everything. oh how could i have been confused before? i especially like the turquoise looking ribbon part. i would like to make a necklace or tie my hair up in it. surely this will get me a passing grade in biochem.

besides anthropomorphizing chemical structures the night before my last final exam of my first year of med school, i am compiling a list of words that sound fantastic paired.

-tropical sprue (some GI disease, forgot what it's from)
-grapevine fires (title of a death cab song cleaved from garrison's collection)
-farmhouse eggs (from a martha stewart magazine on my desk)

and in an effort to rationalize the blatant waste of my time i am engaging in at this moment, i will publish some important facts that will most likely be on the test, "high yield" as everyone in my class would say with such pride because it is such a med school thing to say. 1) methotrexate is an antifolate. 2) tyrosine is a precursor for catecholamines epi, norE and dopamine. 3) arginine to citrulline in the urea cycle produces NO. 4) vit B1 deficiency causes Beri Beri, Wernicke Korsakoff, vit B3 (niacin) def causes pellagra (the 3 Ds), B12 def causes pernicious anemia or megaloblastic anemia and i can't figure out why it causes them both and what the difference is so i guess that makes that one low yield. sorry, class.
