i'm a real gourmet during test week. my lazy brother gave me this recipe. and another high yield fact for the road: pH > 7.4 = alkalosis. if bicarb is less than normal and pH more altered, it's acute respiratory alkalosis because no compensation yet. if bicarb is less than normal and more altered it's chronic respiratory alkalosis because kidneys have compensated by excreting more bicarb. is this all common knowledge and i'm just an idiot?
